I got up this morning and went through the box of a doctor for my grandmother. I realized that something was wrong because she had been gone for five days in a row. Although she was healthy when I visited her, she is now unable to remember the time of the day. When I ask her what time of day she was at her doctor she says “I don’t recall.”
Five days is too long for anyone to not be able to work. You will lose valuable time working with your doctor if you don’t get in on the first day because of an emergency. When I became a nurse practitioner my first step was to shift from being an attending physician to working at a specialist level. While he had to attend more schooling and receive special training, it was more aligned with my job and allowed me to work more freely. He was also a doctor, however, he did not want to become a surgeon.
She was told by her doctor that she could not go back to work. After a short time of her accident she was rushed to surgery. Within 24 hours, she passed away. The majority of the medical school faculty members at the medical school are doctors in their respective fields.
Not all doctors can seamlessly make the transition from medical school becoming a surgeon, general practitioner, or surgeon. Some doctors do not have the ability to diagnose and treat symptoms of stroke immediately after they occur. It is essential that doctors are experts in a specific area of medicine. For example when a doctor wants to become a cardiologist, he should have a strong interest in the field of cardiovascular issues.
Some have suggested that doctors could choose to focus on the less exciting aspects of medicine. Perhaps a doctorate degree focused on pediatricians or another less exciting field of medicine like surgical technology or radiology might be beneficial to the doctor. Although I feel that doctors should concentrate their studies on a particular area of medicine, this doesn’t mean they can’t have an interest in other areas. The doctor may just choose to specialize in a different field of medicine.
Certain doctoral programs may require that a doctor complete either a residency or an internship prior to completing the doctorate program. A residency is usually five years long and takes around two years to complete. Through the course of the internship, doctors will gain more experience in clinical practice to prepare for the doctoral dissertation, which will be required after completion of the doctorate program.
One of the most coveted doctorates these days is a pharmacy degree. Although this doctorate does not permit the doctor to prescribe pharmaceutical products, it permits the doctor to do research and assist pharmacists in filling out the proper forms for prescriptions for these products. Doctors who hold a pharmacy degree are usually involved in teaching and research. While a pharmacy degree does not make an individual a patent scientist but it can help should they choose to.
There are many options when choosing a medical field. Many doctors choose to keep practicing medicine for a number of years before becoming a doctor. Others decide to pursue a doctorate as they are ready for an academic commitment of a higher level. Whatever the reason doctors are generally satisfied with their decision to advance their education and further their career. There are many rewarding areas of medicine to choose from and a doctor will find their niche within the medical field. Read more about Stroke Patient here.
