We have all seen the commercials. It’s late at night and only the wife and kids are at home when all of the sudden a burglar is trying to break into the home. There is a moment of panic when all of the sudden the alarm sounds scaring off the unwanted intruder. I’m sure you’ve seen the scenario played out during a commercial break on television. The reality of it is we all live in an unpredictable world. If we think that could never happen to us we are mistaken. The sad truth is home break-ins could occur to any of us unexpectedly.
Subway stations in my region and my work place don’t supply full-service bike parking but they do provide bike lockers like you see here. These are great: at least for day parking. Again, if someone is determined to axe or saw their way into these lockers, there is not much to stop them. Still, even this would take time and make a lot of noise and that would hopefully prompt a witness to call the cops.
Prevents police from responding to a lot of false alarms – Most of the Security service systems that you can get these days are connected to your local police station. There could be times that a false alarm will happen and if the police have to visit your home for these, then they will soon start disregarding alarms at your home.
Participate in community watch programs. If there is any thing such as community watch program in your locality, do take active part in it. This way your neighbors can keep a watch on your property in your absence and vice versa. This would definitely cut down a lot of crime.
When reading home security articles, several themes will be common to most of them. Having a good home security lock on every exterior door and keeping them locked is universal. Many will also recommend using alarms and home security company, but locks are the obvious first line of defense.
Add video surveillance. Adding CCTV or video surveillance is a very effective home security measure. Even though it is a little expensive, but it is definitely worth it. In video supervision, there are several transmitters and only one receiver that is linked to your TV.
Weigh the good reviews with the bad. As we know from reading online reviews, someone with a bone to pick can nearly monopolize a page of customer reviews. Remember that a couple of bad reviews might be meaningless if coupled with a large number of positive takes on a product. However, if you see the same flaw being pointed out repeatedly, it’s probably for real.
