Classroom Management – Students Who Fall Through The Cracks

This article is aimed at existing project managers and how we portray our career to other people. Surely most of you are familiar with the custom where children are encouraged to take their parents to school to talk about their jobs. I have never been asked to do this at my children’s school! And I have never heard any-one say: I want to be a Project Manager when I grow up!

Set fixed working hours and stick to them. Do not allow housework, errands etc. into this time. Get an office at home and close the door when you are working. This limits distractions. Tell your family and friends about your work hours and ask School management system that they respect them. But you should also block out times when you allow yourself to do non-work activities, such as exercising, errands, playing with kids and seeing friends.

Many towns or surrounding communities have counselors who are trained to deal with these types of problems. A pastor or influential church leader might also be willing to talk to the juvenile. The child’s school counselor might also be able to talk to them about what is upsetting them. In some cases, the young person’s coach will be willing to sit down and talk to the youth about what is enraging them. Sometimes all they need is someone to talk to that they feel is on their side.

Jack was a disaster a few years ago and he’d been kicked out of Infant School because of his violence, confrontation and disruption. Teachers couldn’t do a thing with him. He was only 6 years old and a virtual write off in school. The teachers were in despair — whatever they did had no impact on his appalling behaviour.

Studying with others is more fun than studying alone. It can also open your mind to new thoughts and insights. This is especially important when preparing for a career in international business. Try to find opportunities to work with others that have different backgrounds than you do. For example you can study for a course and prepare for your career by working with a student from another country or culture. Not only will you be better prepared for your courses, you will also meet new friends and discover new ways of life.

Putting this system in place can be very rewarding, because it brings the family closer together as a team, and everyone understands each other better. Whether or not you actually stick with the system for the long haul will depend on how successful you were at getting your family’s buy-in. So plan this carefully, and be sure to have a system that periodically rewards good behavior. It worked for my family and I’m sure it can for yours too.
